Mastercard, Polygon и Mercuryo запускают упрощённые криптопсевдонимы для некастодиальных кошельков Translation: Mastercard, Polygon, and Mercuryo Launch Simplified Crypto Aliases for Non-Custodial Wallets

The payment powerhouse Mastercard has partnered with Polygon Labs and Mercuryo to broaden the reach of its Crypto Credential system to non-custodial wallets. This initiative enables users to replace lengthy addresses with concise aliases for transaction verification.

Polygon Labs will supply the underlying blockchain infrastructure, while Mercuryo will be the first issuer to onboard users and conduct KYC (Know Your Customer) checks. Mastercard will provide its own verification framework.

Here’s how it works:

According to Mark Buaron, CEO of Polygon Labs, this marks a moment where self-custody becomes user-friendly. He emphasized that blockchains can deliver the scale, speed, and reliability required by financial services.

Mercuryo representatives stated that this collaboration brings cryptocurrency closer to mainstream adoption by providing an accessible method for sending and receiving digital tokens while self-custodying assets.

Mastercard noted that the Crypto Credential initiative is supported by partnerships within the Web3 ecosystem, ensuring compatibility with various applications.

In October, reports emerged that Mastercard is set to acquire the cryptocurrency startup Zerohash for $2 billion.
