Medieval Strategy RPG Sandbox The End of History Launches in Early Access on December 10

The publisher WorldMap and the studio Tatamibeya have announced that their medieval sandbox strategy RPG, The End of History, will enter early access on December 10th, priced at $28.

Within the world of The End of History, players will encounter a mysterious structure known as the «Obelisk,» with scattered fragments across the map containing pieces of knowledge. The narrative is shaped by player choices, with each event—no matter how minor—leaving a mark on NPC lives and influencing the story’s progression. The developers promise an unparalleled experience for fans of tactical RPGs and open-world exploration set in a medieval context.

Combat in The End of History emphasizes tactical formations and coordinated maneuvers, enabling players to outflank enemies and gain the upper hand. Gameplay revolves around interacting with NPCs and the freedom to assume various roles, from a destitute wanderer to a merchant, knight, or even a king. Players must work to prevent the world’s destruction, where every action yields consequences, and the motivations of inhabitants intertwine with plots, betrayals, and alliances.

The developers plan to keep the project in early access for six months to a year. The talented team at Tatamibeya aims to refine the game based on feedback from the demo, which helped identify issues with controls, the interface, and the combat system. Gamers have requested more responsive battles, improved tutorials, expanded role-playing interactions, and controller support.

In preparation for early access, the team has revamped the combat mechanics and enemy behavior to enhance strategic depth and fluidity in battles. The user interface has also been upgraded. Additionally, the early version will feature immediate access to the sandbox, a new path for independent factions, and romantic interactions with NPCs.

Following the early access launch, the developers plan a significant interface update for controller support and will continue to refine the game in collaboration with the community.

Only PC gamers will have the opportunity to shape the destinies of heroes in The End of History on Steam. There are currently no plans for a Russian language version. A demo has been prepared for those interested.
