Miranchuk Reflects on Missed Goal Against Peru After Draw

The Russian national team midfielder, Aleksey Miranchuk, shared his thoughts on the goal conceded during the 1-1 draw against Peru.

«This is football; these things can happen — we allowed them to take the shot. We didn’t manage to score a second goal ourselves. I saw the situation leading to the conceded goal. I’m not sure if it was unexpected; the ball took a curve. I don’t know if Matvey mentioned anything in the locker room because I stayed on the field,» Miranchuk’s words are reported by Championship correspondent Elvira Bagirova.

Miranchuk provided an assist to Alexander Golovin in the first half, rolling the ball to the Monaco midfielder for a clear shot on goal. Valery’s long-range strike from the Peruvian side led to the equalizer late in the match.
