Mostovoy: Salary Cap Proposal in Russian Football Shows Potential, But Clubs Will Find Ways Around It

Former footballer of the USSR and Russian national teams, **[Alexander Mostovoy](https://example.com)**, expressed his thoughts on the proposal of implementing a salary cap in the Russian Premier League. This topic is being discussed alongside the potential tightening of restrictions on foreign players in the league.

«The concept of a salary cap in Russian football is quite reasonable, as the football bubble has become so inflated that mediocre players earn amounts that would astonish people in Europe. However, we need to look back 15-20 years. Who was responsible for inflating this bubble? It could have been prevented, but every five years we find ourselves having this conversation. How can such sums be justified? After all, these are real people playing the game. If a player has only scored five goals in ten years and is compensated handsomely, that’s simply wrong. Nevertheless, a salary cap can easily be circumvented; we do have bonuses,» Mostovoy stated in an interview with Championship correspondent Vladislav Kruglov.
