Netflix Acquires Warner Bros. and Its Game Division for $82.7 Billion

Last month, media outlets reported that the leadership of **Netflix** was interested in acquiring **Warner Bros. Discovery**. After a few weeks of negotiations, the companies reached an agreement and finalized a deal, which will transfer **Warner Bros.** to **Netflix** for $82.7 billion.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. As a result of this agreement, **Netflix** will gain control over not only multimillion-dollar film franchises but also the gaming division of **Warner Bros.**, which includes studios such as **Avalanche Software**, **NetherRealm**, **Rocksteady**, and **Traveller’s Tales**.

Representatives from **Netflix** stated that this deal «brings together two pioneering entertainment businesses, merging **Netflix**’s innovations, global reach, and industry-leading streaming service with the longstanding storytelling legacy of **Warner Bros.**.» According to **Bloomberg**, it is likely that the U.S. antitrust commission will intervene in this process, and in such a case, **Netflix** is prepared to offer a $5 billion payout if regulators do not approve the deal.
