New Job Opening at CDPR Hints at Multiplayer Feature in Cyberpunk 2

CD Projekt RED appears poised to fulfill a long-standing wish of its fans by introducing an online mode to  Cyberpunk 2. This speculation arises from a recently published job listing from the studio.

Gamers have been eagerly anticipating multiplayer features in the Cyberpunk universe. Initially, the developers intended to implement this in the first installment, but ultimately decided against it. Now, with the latest updates, it seems that online functionalities will play a significant role in the sequel.

On the social media platform X, the company shared a new job advertisement. CD Projekt RED is in search of a Lead Network Engineer for Cyberpunk 2. This individual will be responsible for designing and optimizing network architecture, ensuring stable and fast connections, and managing matchmaking systems. The job description explicitly mentions the development and enhancement of systems for online gameplay, indirectly confirming that multiplayer functionality is on the way—now it’s just a matter of waiting for the official announcement.

While the offices of CD Projekt RED are bustling with work on the sequel,  Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive updates. Recently, the game was enhanced with update 2.31, which improved the autopilot feature, photo mode, and addressed frequent bugs.
