NHL Releases Schedule for the 2025/2026 Season

The public relations department of the National Hockey League has released the schedule for the 2025/2026 season. The new season will kick off during the night of October 7-8. The regular season will feature a total of 1,312 games, with each team playing 82 matches, and will conclude on Thursday, April 16.

On the opening day, there will be three games. In the first match, the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, will face off against the Chicago Blackhawks at home. On the same day, the New York Rangers will host the Pittsburgh Penguins, while the Los Angeles Kings will go up against the Colorado Avalanche at their home rink.

It is important to note that in the upcoming NHL regular season, each team will play 82 games as before, but starting from the 2026/2027 season, the number of games will be increased to 84.
