Nightmares After Singapore: Tatiana Danchenko Opens Up About Post-World Championship Struggles

The head coach of the Russian synchronized swimming team, **Tatiana Danchenko**, shared her feelings following the 2025 World Championships held in Singapore.

Competing under a neutral status, the Russian team achieved remarkable success in the tournament, clinching three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.

**“Did it take you long to recover from the experiences in Singapore?”**
**“For an entire month, I had nightmares every night. The girls would forget their swimsuits, forget parts of the program, I would forget the music discs in the hotel, they would play the wrong accompaniment for us, and we would fall to the last place. There were so many dialogues, just endless dialogues. It felt like pure PTSD, and I even had to work with a psychologist.**

Such dreams still occasionally occur, but after going through a rehabilitation program at a sanatorium in Kislovodsk and participating in numerous relaxation therapies, I gradually started to feel better. I can’t say I’m fully recovered, but I’ve realized that my strength and desire to achieve a higher result still remain. This means we can win again. Additionally, I have no passive income that would allow me to live comfortably without working. No one has promised me a “golden parachute,” so I continue to do what I know best,” Danchenko told RT.
