OpenAI анонсировала мощный обновленный генератор изображений — GPT Image 1.5 Translation: OpenAI announces powerful updated image generator — GPT Image 1.5

OpenAI has launched a new version of its image generator, ChatGPT Images — GPT Image 1.5. This model adheres more closely to prompts, handles editing and detail preservation better, and operates four times faster.

«The new image generation model in ChatGPT aligns more accurately with your intentions, modifying only what you request while maintaining elements such as lighting, composition, and the appearance of individuals,» the company remarked on its X account.

This tool is now accessible to all users through a dedicated “Images” window on the chatbot’s sidebar.

«The new viewing and editing screens make it easier to create images that align with your vision,» noted OpenAI’s App CEO, Fiji Simo.

The release of GPT Image 1.5 marks another move by Sam Altman following the announcement of a «code red» due to increasing competition from Google with its flagship solutions, Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro.

According to TechCrunch, OpenAI originally planned to unveil the new image generator in early January, but the release had to be expedited.

Simo pointed out that enhancements to ChatGPT have enriched the use of additional visual elements, with responses to inquiries becoming more interactive.

«If visuals convey a story better than words alone, the chatbot should incorporate them,» the executive stated.

Alongside its product development, OpenAI continues to seek investments. The Information reports that the company is in discussions with Amazon regarding a new deal involving the use of AI chips.

The deal could exceed $10 billion, although the terms have yet to be finalized.

Discussions were initiated following a corporate restructuring of OpenAI, which provided the company with greater freedom to raise capital and collaborate.

Amazon has invested at least $8 billion in the competing startup Anthropic and has been developing its own AI chips since 2015.

In recent months, OpenAI has committed to creating AI infrastructure worth over $1.4 trillion. However, a recent document leak suggests that the startup’s financial situation may be precarious.

OpenAI has hired former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to collaborate with governments on AI infrastructure development.

This hiring is part of the ChatGPT developer’s initiative to work with national governments and localize its products, based on the Stargate project.

It is worth noting that in December, OpenAI introduced a series of GPT-5.2 models.
