Owlcat Announces Alpha Test for Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader Port for Switch 2

The team at **Owlcat Game** has officially announced the upcoming alpha testing for the game **Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy**, a new isometric RPG set in the **Warhammer 40K** universe, which was unveiled at the end of May during the **Warhammer Skulls** presentation.

Gamers will have the chance to experience the alpha version before the year’s end. Specific details and an exact launch date will be revealed in due course. Most likely, access to the alpha will be granted to those who pre-ordered **Dark Heresy** from the studio’s [official website](https://darkheresy.owlcat.games/), similar to a previous test for **Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader**.

In **Dark Heresy**, players will step into the role of an Acolyte of the Imperial Inquisition, tasked with forming a team and journeying from planet to planet in the Calyx sector to eliminate threats to humanity, including heretics, xenos, the treacherous Night Lords’ Space Marine Legion, and the Star Tyrant. The game is being developed for PC (available on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3710600/Warhammer_40000_Dark_Heresy/), [GOG](https://www.gog.com/en/game/warhammer_40000_dark_heresy), and [Epic Games Store](https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/warhammer-40k-dark-heresy-4cf5b0)), as well as for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, though a release date has yet to be announced.

Additionally, the developers have not overlooked the audience of **Rogue Trader**, as they recently [announced](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AROkh1vMWS8) a port of the game for the Nintendo Switch 2. The release date for this new version is also still to be determined.
