Record-Breaking Qualifying Session at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Six Red Flags Mark Historic Event

During the qualifying session for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, held today, September 20, at the Baku city circuit, a championship record was set.

For the first time in history, the qualifying session was interrupted by red flags six times. The reasons for these interruptions included consecutive accidents involving Alex Albon, Nico Hülkenberg, Franco Colapinto, Oliver Berman, Charles Leclerc, and Oscar Piastri.

As a reminder, the pole position for the Baku qualifying went to four-time world champion Max Verstappen from Red Bull. He will be joined on the front row for tomorrow’s race by Carlos Sainz from Williams.
