Resident Evil Requiem Surges Past 4 Million Wishlist Additions Ahead of Release

With less than two months remaining before the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, the team at Capcom is celebrating yet another milestone—since its full announcement, the game has made its way into 4 million wishlists. For reference, the previous milestone of 3 million was reached in November.

This heightened interest among fans can largely be attributed to the recent unveiling of a new trailer at The Game Awards 2025, where developers officially announced the introduction of a second protagonist, Leon Kennedy. The iconic character from the series will join forces with the new character, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft.

Grace is completely defenseless in combat, so her gameplay focuses on stealth and horror elements. In stark contrast, the battle-hardened Leon will continue to confront the undead and mutants head-on. The narrative of this ninth installment will take players back to the devastated Raccoon City, set 30 years after the bombings that concluded Resident Evil 2. Despite its ruins, the city still conceals dangers and dark secrets. Players can experience the title from both first-person and third-person perspectives.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to be released on February 27 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2, featuring full Russian localization.
