Santos Fires Head Coach After Staggering 0-6 Defeat to Vasco da Gama

Brazilian club Santos has announced the resignation of head coach Kleber Xavier. On Sunday, August 17, the team suffered a humiliating defeat against Vasco da Gama from Rio de Janeiro, losing 0-6 in a home match during the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship.

«The club expresses its gratitude to the coach for his efforts and wishes him success in his future endeavors,» stated the club in a release on its official website.

It’s worth noting that Xavier managed the team for just 15 matches, achieving five wins, four draws, and six losses.

Currently, Santos is positioned 15th in the Serie A standings with 21 points, just two points above the relegation zone.
