Saudi Club Owner Reveals €1.4 Billion Offer to Messi and Hopes for Future Signing

Anmar Al-Haili, the owner and president of the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, shared details about his previous contract offer to Argentine national team striker Lionel Messi and expressed hopes for a future agreement with the forward.

«I reached out to him when his contract with PSG ended. I offered him €1.4 billion a year, but he declined because his family preferred to settle in the United States. I respect that decision, and Al-Ittihad will always welcome him back; he can come whenever he wishes.

If Leo agrees to sign, I would provide a contract that allows him to earn as much as he desires, even for life. Having Messi here in Saudi Arabia, wearing our jersey, doesn’t hold financial significance for me. I want Messi because he would represent the greatest player in the history of football,” Al-Haili stated, as reported by TyC Sports.
