Semshov Discusses Potential Dismissal of Stankovic from Spartak Before Winter Break

Former Russian national team player Igor Semshov shared his views on the potential dismissal of Serbian coach Dejan Stankovic from his position as head coach of FC Spartak Moscow.

«I don’t think anything will happen right now. There are just a few rounds left before the winter break, along with some Cup matches. It probably doesn’t make sense to replace Stankovic before the New Year. However, there might be changes afterwards. People are used to hearing rumors about negotiations with other coaches. The best answer is performance. If there’s no improvement, then it will be time to say goodbye,» Semshov stated during a broadcast on ‘Match TV.’

Earlier reports indicated that the club is considering Spanish coach Alberto Riera as a potential successor to Stankovic in the event of his dismissal.

As of today, Spartak sits in sixth place in the RPL standings, accumulating a total of 22 points.
