Seven Years After Release, Baba Is You Unleashes a Major Update with New Modding Features and Words

The beloved puzzle game Baba Is You, celebrated by both fans and critics for its innovative rule-changing mechanics, continues to delight players. Nearly seven years after its original release, the game has received a significant update that introduces new words, objects, and modding tools.

This update primarily targets modders, adding five new words for level creation: become, facedby, hold, happy, and angry. These new terms alter the gameplay rules for specific levels, allowing for unexpected combinations. For instance, the phrase «Baba is Happy» can make the character joyful, directly influencing puzzle solutions.

In addition to the new words, several new objects have been introduced: a fox, a blob, a hot dog, a cactus, and more. All of these elements are integrated into the level editor, launched in 2021, which is compatible with all platforms. During this time, clever gamers have crafted numerous custom levels, with the best showcased in a dedicated section of the main menu. Given the intricate puzzles in the original game, it’s exciting to ponder the wild and creative solutions fans have devised.

The patch also includes numerous bug fixes and minor adjustments to enhance the overall gameplay experience, making it smoother and more stable. However, no new levels have been added; the focus of this update is on expanding creative tools and possibilities.

Players can take on the roles of Baba, a fox, a cactus, and many others in Baba is You on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. There is no Russian language version available for the puzzle. Until January 5, the game is on sale with a 30% discount on the Valve platform.
