Silent Hill 2 Remake Finally Arrives on Xbox Series with Major Enhancements

A little over a year after its release on PC via [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2124490/SILENT_HILL_2/) and PlayStation 5, the [Silent Hill 2 remake](https://game/silent_hill_2_2024) has now become available for owners of the [Xbox Series](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/SILENT-HILL-2/9PNVDQKPJRQV). Horror enthusiasts can currently purchase the game on both **Sony** and **Microsoft** consoles at a 50% discount.

To recap, [Silent Hill 2](https://game/silent_hill_2) follows a character named James Sunderland, who arrives in the titular ghost town to search for his wife, whom he believes to be deceased. James embarks on a terrifying journey through the fog-laden streets, facing off against monsters, solving peculiar puzzles, and encountering characters whose mental states appear to be quite troubled.

The remake retains the core narrative of the original, while everything else has been given a fresh touch by **Bloober Team**. Familiar roles are voiced by different actors, cutscenes are directed differently, and the environment has been recreated using the Unreal Engine 5 with enhancements. The combat system has also been overhauled—shifting from fixed camera angles and auto-targeting shooting to a more contemporary third-person perspective battle system.
