Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Emerges as a Strong Contender Against Mario Kart

Recently, SEGA released a single-player demo of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and lifted the embargo on final reviews. It turns out that most critics are quite pleased with the new Sonic kart racer— the game boasts an average score of 83 on Metacritic and 84 on OpenCritic, along with a 97% recommendation rate.

Media representatives have gone so far as to call CrossWorlds a serious contender to Mario Kart, highlighting its fun gameplay, diverse tracks, and wealth of content. The main critiques, however, have been directed at the somewhat awkward controls and the audio design, which suffers from a cacophony of sounds during races.

Here’s what the final reviews say:

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will launch on September 25 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, featuring a localized Russian text version.
