South Park Characters Join Fortnite in Epic Collaboration Event

Do you remember “South Park”? The creators of Fortnite certainly do—Epic Games and South Park Studios have unveiled the first trailer for their collaboration, South Park x Fortnite. The legendary animated series will merge with the battle royale game starting this week. The event kicks off tomorrow, January 9, and will run until February 5.

Fans can expect to see Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and Butters join the fray in Fortnite. Each character will feature unique “mecha-skins” inspired by the show. This particular format is utilized by Epic for characters with unconventional proportions, enabling uniform hitboxes that are essential for all skins in the game.

As part of the event, a new point of interest called Cartmanland will be added to the map. Unlike the crossover with “The Simpsons”, which transformed the entire island, this collaboration will only introduce a specific area.

The update will also bring a significant gameplay change: Fortnite will temporarily introduce squads of five players for the first time. In the trailer’s storyline, Butters is excluded from the standard squad, prompting his alter ego, Professor Chaos, to alter the rules using the Stick of Truth.

The game will feature themed items, including cheesy puffs. Additionally, characters like Towelie and others from the series will make cameo appearances in Cartmanland. While there’s no word yet on additional skins, given the scale of previous collaborations, their arrival seems quite possible.

Players will be able to execute the classic “They killed Kenny!” catchphrase and punish the eternal fourth graders on PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
