Sporting Dominates Kairat 4-1 in UEFA Champions League Opener

The first round of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League for the 2025/2026 season has concluded, featuring a match between Lisbon’s Sporting and Almaty’s Kairat. The encounter took place at the José Alvalade Stadium in Portugal, officiated by a refereeing team led by Damian Sylwester from Poland. The game ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the home team.

At the end of the first half, Sporting’s midfielder Francisco Trincão opened the scoring. He doubled the lead in the 64th minute. Just two minutes later, home striker Alisson Santos increased the advantage further. Following this, midfielder Geovani Kenda netted the fourth goal for Sporting in the 68th minute. Kairat’s forward Edmilson managed to pull one back in the 86th minute.

In the next round, the Portuguese side will face Napoli on October 1, while the Kazakh club is set to play against Real Madrid on September 30.
