State of Play Reveals: Exciting DLC for Elden Ring and New Game Announcements

As promised, a couple of hours ago, Sony held another State of Play presentation. This time, the event lasted just over 40 minutes and focused entirely on various titles from developers in Japan and other Asian countries. The event was hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji.

Unfortunately, the number of completely new announcements can be counted on one hand. Most of the presentation showcased additional content for already-known (and in some cases, already released) projects, the majority of which were indie games, ports, and DLC.

Highlights from the November event included:

The presentation kicked off with a reveal of a new trailer for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, which focused on the main characters. Square Enix is actively revitalizing its classic JRPGs, and this time, the developers have moved away from the HD-2D visual design to embrace full 3D in an isometric view.

The upcoming remake of the cult classic Dragon Quest VII will feature new story content, an improved combat system with faster-paced battles, and modern amenities (such as a revamped interface) for a more enjoyable gaming experience. A notable new feature is the “dual-class” mechanic, which allows players to select two professions and freely combine their skills to create a unique playstyle.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is set to launch on February 5 of next year for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 without a Russian localization. Pre-orders are already available.

The independent studio Nagai Industries unveiled a new gameplay trailer for their cozy «conbini management simulator» inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories.

Players will be transported to 1990s Japan and step into the shoes of Makoto Hayakawa, a young student who assists her aunt in managing a small shop. The gameplay involves overseeing business development, arranging products on shelves, interacting with customers, and engaging in other meditative activities accompanied by ASMR sounds.

inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is expected to release in April 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch with Russian text localization.

A new installment in the relaxing Coffee Talk series from Toge Productions and Chorus Worldwide has received an official release date. As the title suggests, players will find themselves in the capital of Japan in Coffee Talk Tokyo.

The gameplay remains unchanged, placing users in the role of a barista who must brew different types of coffee and satisfy the diverse needs of their clients while listening to their stories.

Coffee Talk Tokyo is slated to launch on March 5 (March 4 UTC) 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch without any official Russian translation. A demo version remains available on Valve‘s store.

Japanese indie studio Serafini Productions has announced a release date for their new psychological horror game from the BrokenLore series.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW tells the story of Anne, a victim of bullying who finds herself in a world of nightmares as she struggles to escape from its monstrous inhabitants. The narrative addresses contemporary issues, including the impact of social media on vulnerable minds.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is scheduled to be released on January 16, 2026, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch with Russian text localization.

Immediately following the announcement of the release date for BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW, the team at Serafini Productions revealed another new entry in the series titled BrokenLore: ASCEND, which revolves around climbing mechanics.

This time, the game’s events will once again unfold in Japan. ASCEND follows extreme adventurers Ren and Yuki, who seek fame online by climbing the Tokyo Tower in the dead of night. What initially seems like a simple plan turns into a nightmare when the heroes encounter the yōkai Rokurokubi.

BrokenLore: ASCEND is expected to launch in the summer of 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with Russian text localization.

The developers from Team Ninja, supported by publisher Koei Tecmo Games, announced the release date for the remake of the second part of the iconic horror franchise Fatal Frame.

In Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake the developers promise improvements to nearly every aspect of the original game—from graphics and sound to controls and gameplay systems. The signature mechanic of combating spirits using a camera remains intact. The plot focuses on the story of twin sisters Mio and Mayu who become trapped in an abandoned, ghost-filled village.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is set to launch on March 12 of next year for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 without a Russian localization.

The highly-rated musou action game Dynasty Warriors: Origins is preparing to receive a major expansion titled Visions of Four Heroes, which debuted with an introducing trailer during the presentation.

This expansion will bring fresh stories featuring four new heroes, alongside new allies, weapons, and more. More details about the upcoming content will be revealed in the near future.

At the September State of Play, the creators of Gran Turismo 7 celebrated the franchise’s success—having sold a staggering 100 million copies throughout its series history. In honor of this achievement, the developers announced a significant update called Spec III, expected to be released in December.

Today, they followed up with a presentation for the Power Pack add-on, which will launch simultaneously with Spec III and feature hardcore 24-hour races.

Gran Turismo 7 is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

A couple of weeks ago, the platforming puzzle game MotionRec launched on PC (Steam), and its developers at HANDSUM have just announced upcoming console versions for PlayStation.

MotionRec will be released on Sony devices in the spring of 2026.

The RPG Wandering Sword, released in 2023 by the Chinese studio The Swordman, is also preparing for a port to PlayStation 5.

Developed using Unreal Engine 4, the game features an HD-2D visual style blending sprite-based 2D animations with a three-dimensional environment. The non-linear story of Wandering Sword follows a young man from ancient China, aspiring to become a great warrior. With the help of loyal companions, the hero embarks on a journey to master martial arts. In terms of gameplay, the developers have implemented two types of combat—battles can be turn-based or in real-time.

This new version of Wandering Sword is set to launch on May 28, 2026. Currently, the game is available only on PC (Steam) without Russian localization.

Once again, we have ports for PlayStation. This time, the upcoming versions of the recently released adventure detective game No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files will be featured.

The third installment of the AI: The Somnium Files series follows the new adventures of detective Kaname Date, who works alongside his AI companion, Aiboy, implanted in his left eye. The plot revolves around the hero taking on a case to save Iris, an internet celebrity who has been kidnapped and forced to participate in a deadly survival game.

No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 26, with no Russian localization available.

A few months ago, a new installment of Tokyo Xtreme Racer left early access and officially launched on PC (Steam). Now the developers have announced the release date for the console version for PlayStation 5.

For the first time in over 20 years, a title from the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series will be available on Sony devices, launching on February 26 of next year.

The cooperative action roguelike released in late October, Once Upon A KATAMARI, is set to receive two small DLCs (Dance Dance Remixes and Neo Remixes), featuring additional music tracks and various cosmetics. Both expansions will be free.

Capcom has announced the release date for the fourth content update for Monster Hunter Wilds.

The developers of the metroidvania Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse from the Japanese studio Frontside 180 (a division of Pocketpair) have declared the exact release date in a new trailer.

As can be guessed from the visual style, the game is inspired by the famous Hollow Knight, yet it features distinctive elements such as cooperative play for up to four users, a town-building system, and the ability to control enemies using a cursed witch’s hat.

The cooperative action-roguelike BlazBlue Entropy Effect, which was released last year, is preparing to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch under the updated name BlazBlue: Entropy Effect X.

The staff at Square Enix prepared a story trailer for Octopath Traveler 0, the new installment in the Octopath Traveler JRPG series, which also serves as an expanded version of the mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.

The game serves as a prequel to the original Octopath Traveler. Unlike the main duology, this title features a single protagonist, whom players can create. The hero will explore the kingdom of Orsterra, recruit allies, uncover secrets, and confront great evil. The creators of the cult series Guilty Gear from Arc System Works revealed the timeline for the second phase of closed beta testing for their new superhero fighting game MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls.

The tests will take place exclusively on PS5 from December 5-7. This time, Spider-Man and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) will join the roster of fighters. A new arena set in the X-Men mansion is also announced. Registration to participate is now open.

Developers from FromSoftware have fully announced the upcoming expansion The Forsaken Hollows for the cooperative Elden Ring: Nightreign.
