The Crew 2 Introduces Offline Mode: A Game-Changer for the Franchises Future

Ubisoft has finally introduced the long-awaited offline mode in The Crew 2. This update provides players the option to race both online and offline. The publisher claims this move is a response to «player feedback,» although it is clear that the significant public outcry surrounding the Stop Killing Games campaign, which gathered 1.4 million signatures advocating for the preservation of games, played a crucial role in this decision.

While Ubisoft prefers not to explicitly link the update to the Stop Killing Games campaign, the studio acknowledges the pressure from the gaming community. Previously, company head Yves Guillemot had remarked that support for all games «cannot last forever,» but the issue is widespread and the studio is actively seeking solutions.

Interestingly, not everything is perfect—the progress made in offline mode does not synchronize with online saves, presenting a slight drawback to the update.

A similar update for The Crew: Motorfest is in the works, while fans have launched The Crew Unlimited—a custom server that has revived the original game’s experience, following the discontinuation of its servers, which triggered the entire saga.

For those unaware, the seven-year-old title The Crew 2 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect), Xbox, and PlayStation, featuring full Russian localization. Until October 30, the game is available on the platform Valve for a 90% discount.
