Ukrainian Drones Strike Residential Area in Saratov, Resulting in Two Fatalities

A drone strike launched by Ukraine targeted the central Russian city of Saratov on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, according to local officials.

Since the start of the nearly four-year conflict in Ukraine, Kyiv has frequently utilized drones against Russia, which has led to extensive territorial gains for Moscow as well as a barrage of missiles and drones launched towards Ukraine.

Regional Governor Roman Busargin reported that the drones impacted a residential structure in Saratov.

«Two individuals lost their lives,» Busargin posted on Telegram.

He noted that the drone strike caused damage to multiple apartments within the residential building.

Busargin also mentioned that the authorities would offer financial assistance to those whose homes were affected.

Saratov is situated along the Volga River, directly across from Engels, which hosts a significant Russian military base.

While Kyiv has previously targeted this area with drones, Russian forces have successfully intercepted many of them, making fatalities uncommon.

Throughout the ongoing war, Russia has persistently bombarded Ukrainian cities with a steady stream of drones and missiles.

The United States is engaged in negotiations with both Moscow and Kyiv in an effort to bring an end to the prolonged conflict.
