Unearthing Horror: The Florist Delivers a Blooming Nightmare

Horror games reminiscent of classic titles like Resident Evil and Silent Hill clearly remain popular. The New Zealand team Unclear Games has introduced another such game, The Florist.

In this game, Jessica Park delivers beautiful flowers to the town of Joycliff. However, her journey turns into a nightmare when a deadly disease begins to spread through the city. This outbreak causes uncontrollable plant growth, transforming victims into grotesque monsters. Jessica must save the survivors and uncover the mystery of the hellish garden.

The developers promise classic gameplay—exploring environments with fixed camera angles, solving puzzles, and defeating monsters. At night, the aggressive plants will gain new abilities. Information about enemies and the storyline will be logged in an in-game journal.

Unclear Games doesn’t stick to all old-school conventions; in The Florist, players can enjoy an unlimited inventory and autosave features. Among other aspects, the game will feature flexible difficulty and accessibility settings, as well as hidden content.

When compared to other horror titles, The Florist stands out with its vibrant atmosphere. Joycliff is not a dark, abandoned town; the epidemic has only recently affected it. Color and lighting are used as the main artistic and gameplay tools.

The Florist is set to launch in 2026 on PC (Steam) and unnamed consoles. Russian subtitles will be included.
