Zaripov Calls for Limits on Foreign Coaches in the KHL

Three-time world champion and five-time Gagarin Cup winner, **[Danis Zaripov](Данис Зарипов)**, has proposed implementing limitations on foreign coaches in the Kontinental Hockey League.

**»There has been an increase in foreign coaches in the KHL. What are your thoughts on this? Shouldn’t we make space for our own coaches?»**
— «Our local coaches should always have opportunities, but not all clubs adhere to this principle. The shift towards hiring more foreign coaches likely did not happen by chance; perhaps some executives are seeing a decline in their teams’ performance and resort to this solution. However, we have no doubts about the qualifications of these foreign coaches. They bring valuable experience and expertise. Hopefully, they will introduce something innovative to our league, and our players and coaching staff will learn from them. This is a normal process, but we also need to establish certain boundaries, similar to our limit on foreign players,» Zaripov told Match TV.
