HoYoverse Unveils Varsapura: A New Open-World Adventure Built on Unreal Engine 5

The gameplay footage was recorded on a system featuring an RTX 4090.

This spring, media outlets reported that HoYoverse has ambitious plans and a multitude of games in development. Alongside its support for gacha titles such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, the company continues to announce new projects. The latest revelation pertains to Varsapura, though there is still limited information available.

Developers have yet to disclose the genre of Varsapura, but they have confirmed that the title is being built using Unreal Engine 5 and will feature an open world. The visual style leans towards anime, yet it has transitioned from bright and colorful environments to a more subdued and realistic aesthetic.

Based on a half-hour gameplay showcase, Varsapura bears a distant resemblance to Control. It includes a mysterious agency called SEAL, a shadowy realm, physics-defying locations, and character-switching combat within your squad. You can also navigate the city. From the snippets of information available, it appears that the world of Varsapura is afflicted by a supernatural infection known as «Mindrot,» which is what SEAL is combating.

Currently, there is no release date or platform information for Varsapura. Recently, HoYoverse announced a few more titles: Honkai: Nexus Anima, centered around collecting whimsical creatures, and Petit Planet, a life simulation game in the spirit of Animal Crossing.
